Samsung Galaxy S8 pictures and specs leaked, launch on March 29th

Predictably, as the Galaxy S8's debut gets closer the details are getting clearer: so here's your cheat sheet on the Samsung Galaxy S8.

Samsung is expected to drop the Edge variant of the Galaxy line, as both S8 models will sport "dual edge" displays which wrap around the S8's sides like an infinity pool.

As for the next generation Google Pixel, it was reported that it will be waterproof to match Samsung Galaxy S7 and iPhone 7. But no features are confirmed for the device at this time.

Last week, Samsung CEO DJ Koh detailed the results of Samsung's internal investigation on the Galaxy Note 7, and similar findings by representatives from three independent organizations, UL, Exponent and TUV Rheinland were also revealed. Soneira expects the Galaxy S8 to have an aspect ratio of 2.0, and screen resolution of 2880 x 1440, 3840 x 1920 or 4320 x 2160. That's the word from Dr. Raymond M. Soneira, the president of DisplayMate, a company that helps provide an industry standard for screens by testing displays extensively.

Evan Blass, an online tipster, has just uploaded photos that he claims to be of Samsung's newest flagship device, the Galaxy S8, set to launch on March 29.

Samsung has a lot riding on the new phone after the expensive global debacle of the exploding Galaxy Note 7. The flagship smartphone comes in two sizes, 5.8-inches and 6.2-inches and will supposedly go on sale nearly a month after the reveal on April 21. Galaxy S8's front camera will be at 8-megapixel, and the smartphone will come with a service called DeX that will allow you to transform the device into a mini Android computer. Samsung said design and manufacturing issues related to the batteries were to blame, but additional investigations are needed to find the root cause of the battery problems.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was one of the biggest disasters the smartphone maker has had to deal with as it was recalled not long after it arrived.

It's vital to take into account that the S8 Plus did not come second in the polls; the hypothetical 5.1-inches Galaxy S8 came second.
